GROUP E

Malawi’s hopes for making it to the knock out stages depended on beating UAE and drawing against either Spain or USA. Now that they have lost to UAE they will have to beat either Spain or USA. Please note that Spain and USA (Yanks) are among the world’s most experienced sides at U-17 level. That said, there are no certainties in football. Didn’t Liverpool beat Man U 2-0 after losing 4 games on the trot? Don’t discount Malawi yet. Malawi and Switzerland are the only tournament’s debutants. Switzerland beat Mexico 2-0. Bring the Yanks!

The Junior Flames were denied a clear goal. People need to watch the video again and they will see that it wasn’t offside. Even the commentators were surprised why it was ruled offside. The linesman was from Malaysia so what do you expect?
