Right on the money. Now, here is the final poll:
On the 26 January 2010 post there was this poll
Egypt 4:0 Algeria (As it happened):
2130: Many of you asking whether the likes of Nadir Belhadj will be banned for the World Cup match against England. I’ll check and get back to you.
2150: Before I head off, that question about whether the red cards will count in the World Cup. Despite ringing Fifa, who were out of the office, we cannot give you a definitive answer on that right now. Nadir Belhadj will get a three-match ban but whether that counts in the World Cup will depend on how many games they play before then. He will be banned for the third-place play-off so that takes it down to two. The other pair were sent off for second yellow cards so the bans will be shorter. Don’t forget that England play Algeria second in their group so I would say there is a fair chance they will all be available but you will get confirmation on Friday about that one. Okay, that’s me cooked for the evening. See you on Sunday and let’s hope it’s 11 v 11. Ta-ta.
Lady luck is on Ghana’s side.
When Ghana qualified for World Cup Germany 2006 Laryea Kingston was not eligible to play during the group stages at the World Cup finals in Germany. He had received a four-match suspension after he was expelled from Ghana’s group match during the Africa Cup of Nations 2006.
sscouser great job on this blog, I salute your work. I remember a player called Mike Hanke in the German national team recieved two yellows in the 2005 confederations cup and was suspended in Germany’s first match against Costa Rica a whole one year later. So Nadir will probably miss the Slovenia and England matches if he gets a three match ban. The least they deserve for trying to injure our players.
England seem to be scared of Algeria. Why are they only talking about Algeria when there are two other teams in the group

I applaude you for your investigative work. You know your s..t bro!
Ghana would do themselves a great favour by approaching the Malawi coach on the strategy for beating Egypt.Otherwise, they will not stand a chance at all. There is no way Ghana will beat Egypt without watching the Malawi-Egypt matches.Ghana has to play Malawi type football to beat Egypt.
While still at investigative work, CAF is holding its 32nd Ordinary General Assembly today. Among the AGENDA:
xiv. Consideration of the proposals for amendments of the CAF Statutes and regulations
xv. Discussions of proposals received from national associations and the Executive Committee in conformity with Article 17 para 7
National associations wishing to submit an item for inclusion on the agenda of the General Assembly shall submit their proposal to the CAF Secretariat in writing at least ninety (90) days before the date of the meeting. Such proposal shall be accompanied by a concise explanation of the reasons for the proposal.
According to some reports, FAM (Football Association of Malawi) would support a change in the current Africa Cup of Nations tie breaker rules which saw Algeria proceeding to the quarter finals despite scoring a single goal in the group stage.
However, CAF has stated that no proposals were received from member associations. May be it will be discussed under:
xviii. Any other business
As for the finals, the pressure is on Egypt. The Black Stars of Ghana will play at ease because they have nothing to lose. Ghana’s young squad contains eight graduates from last year’s under 20 world champions and they have surpassed expectations to reach their first Africa Cup of Nations final since 1992.
The black stars have made it to the finals thanks to three successive 1-0 wins, against Burkina Faso, Angola and Nigeria.
“We won 1-0 and who knows, maybe the same score will be repeated on Sunday.” – Former striker Tony Yeboah (who scored 29 times for Ghana in 59 appearances between 1985 and 1997).

Article 39, paragraph 2 of the FIFA disciplinary code states: “players unable to complete a suspension imposed during “confederation competitions for representative teams are carried over to the representative team’s subsequent official match in a competition organised by Fifa.”
When Ghana qualified for World Cup Germany 2006 Laryea Kingston was not eligible to play during the group stages at the World Cup finals in Germany. He had received a four-match suspension after he was expelled from Ghana’s group match during the Africa Cup of Nations 2006.
Then, FIFA issued a statement to BBC:
“We can confirm that the Fifa disciplinary department has formally informed the Ghana Football Association that the remaining un-served match suspensions of Laryea Kingston will indeed be carried over to Ghana’s subsequent official matches in a competition organised by Fifa, in this case, the 2006 Fifa World Cup,”
