Drogba and Ivory Coast Extinguish The Flames

Ivorian National football team, nicknamed ‘the Elephants’, striker Didier Drogba (R) vies with Malawian player Jmmy Zakazaka (L) March 29, 2009 at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium in Abidjan during their World Cup 2010 and African Nations Cup qualifying football match. AFP PHOTO / ISSOUF SANOGO
As expected, Drogba and Ivory Coast doused the Flames of Malawi. Ivory Coast beat Malawi 5-0 . However, it will be a different story at the giant Kamuzu Stadium where Ivory Coast will be taught the “Egypt lesson” on October 10, 2009. Today The Flames of Malawi were without five key players:
Suspensions (accumulation of yellow cards): Esau Kanyenda (Russia), James Sangala (Angola)
Injuries: Clement Kafwafwa ( LFA, Denmark), Fischer Kondowe (Bloemfontein Celtic, South Africa), Russell Mwafulirwa (IFK Norrkoping, Sweden)
The Flames should have parked the bus. You don’t take risks when playing against big teams.

The Elephants’ triumph was expected (at least in malawi). However, However watch this space again. They (flames) didn’t just reach this far by a fluke
