Rwanda played well in the first half and according to the commentator,the team plays fast football with some swift passes, and could split the Malawi defence, but only for poor finishing.That is the major weakness of the Rwandese. The news of the friendly game against the West African side was a relief to coach Kinnah Phiri who was reluctant to play Lesotho.

“I am satisfied with the arrangement. The two games are enough for us to fine-tune ahead of the qualifier.

“Initially, my fear was that playing Lesotho would not help us at all. But since we will also play another friendly against the West African side that’s even much better,” he said.

Lesotho had expressed interest to play a friendly against Malawi but Kinnah (The Flames’ coach)had put his foot down arguing that playing the Southern African country would yield no results.

“Honestly speaking I don’t see any gain in playing Lesotho. They will not help us at all. We need to play West African countries who will give us a good measure of our performance,” Kinnah said.
