Malawi Vs. Ivory Coast: The Flames in Distress?
SOS! Emergency, The Flames fly in goalkeeper
There is no need to push the panic button because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The Flames play as a team i.e. a collection of players that interact to function as a whole.
The Flames should avoid giving the Ivory Coast stars too much respect. Yes, Drogba ended his country’s civil war but there is no reason to respect him on the pitch. Yes, Ivory Coast has good players but The Flames are not going to play names but the Ivory Coast National Team.
Although this game will be the first of the six games each team in the Group will play, each game will be important. However, a win will not only boost The Flames’ morale but will also put Malawi on the map (isn’t Malawi already on the map?)

Malawi can’t win in Ivory Coast. You wanna bet?

I will not go as far as saying that Malawi will lose this Sunday because anything can happen in the game of football. However, what I can say is that this group is much tougher for Malawi than the previous one. There is no Djibouti in this group. Some Malawians think Guinea is beatable home and away but look at their squad: http://guinea.worldcupblog.org/team-news/guinea-squad-for-world-cup-qualifier-against-burkina-faso.html. Star-studded bambo.

Performance of a goalkeeper depends on defenders so it doesn’t matter how good or bad the keeper is. Man U’s keeper had a clean sheet because the defenders were doing work for him. He is not as good as people thought he was. Rooted twice against Liverpool.
