WHY COACHES GET FIRED
Coaches get fired for several reasons. Sometimes they just aren’t fit to be head coaches. Sometimes their team “quits” on them. There are other reasons, of course. There are official reasons and real reasons. The official reasons really have nothing to do with the real reasons a coach gets fired.
THE OFFICIAL REASON:
It is the head coach’s responsibility to get the best game plan that uses his team’s strengths and his players’ strengths. The coach cannot make the players execute plays but he can call plays that allow them to use their ability to execute plays. When a team is bad it is at least 70 – 75% because of coaching. It is no coincidence that the best teams year in and year out are the ones with the best coaches. Chelsea just fired Scolari , a World Cup Winner. Am not saying Scolari should have or shouldn’t have been fired. All I am saying is that with the talented players he had he could have done better. Sometimes wrong substitutions can cost you a game. Rafa, Liverpool’s coach, got away with his team selection in the 3-2 win over Portsmouth . Had Liverpool lost that game the blame would have been on Rafa. Agree?
Players aren’t just randomly good. They have potential. When a coach takes that potential and makes something good out of it that player becomes better and better. If the coach can’t do that then he gets fired.
Nevertheless, firing a coach in the middle of the season is plain stupidity (Blue Champion is not happy about this). It’s like you are telling the team that the season is over.
THE REAL REASON:
The real reason why a coach gets fired boils down quite simply to either one of the following political reasons or both:
1) The fact that the coach has not learned how to get along with star players
2) The fact that the coach has not learned how to work with owners of the team
It’s all about being able to handle your star players and being able to cooperate with the team owners. How much does Abromavich pay Drogba? Putting Drogba on the bench or in “civilian” is a waste of money. We all know that in order to keep your job safe you have to kiss ass. Never bite the hand that feeds you.
Am sure at your company you have underachievers. They are so terrible at their positions that they should be fired. How come they are not fired? Your guess is as good as mine. Make friends with your bosses. No matter how productive you are, if you don’t kiss ass you will never, I mean never, ever get a promotion. Always compliment your boss: “Boss, I like your shirt.” Never forget to kiss ass. Be obsequious. Do as you are told. Be compliant.
Definition (Idiom)
Kiss (someone’s) ass (American, very informal): To try too hard to please someone and to agree with everything they say, in a way which other people find unpleasant. For example: “If you want promotion around here, you gonna have to kiss ass.”
Now, what’s the main reason Scolari got fired?

There is some truth in what you stated. Wenger is still Arsenal coach because he developed a good relationship with the owners. 5 seasons no trophy and currently on position 5 in the PL yet he is still coach?

Scolari should have found a way to feature both Anelka and Drogba at the same time. That’s the main reason he got fired.

Scolari got fired because he run out of excuses.

“It’s never enough time to prepare a team in one week but this is an exceptional situation,” Hiddink added. “Chelsea have good players and they should be in top form and that should make my job easier.”
